  • Dr. David Lowrie

    Senior Pastor

    Dr. David Lowrie Jr. has more than thirty-seven years of pastoral experience, having served churches in the Dallas area, Wisconsin, Canyon and most recently El Paso. He is the past President of the Baptist General Convention of Texas and is serving his second term on the Board of Trustees at Howard Payne University. He holds a B.A. from Baylor University, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Divinity from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. David is an avid runner and marathoner, enjoys playing golf, and reading a wide variety of literature on study dates with his wife of 34 years, Robyn.


    In addition to an active ministry partnership with David, including counseling and teaching Discipleship classes, Robyn is a university educator in English, ESL and Applied French language. David and Robyn's family includes four daughters, Kalie, Lorin, Jamie and Madison, two sons-in-law Dr. Phillip Scott and Jordan Villanueva, and two grandchildren, George Walker and Margot Rose.

  • Mike Stallsworth

    Executive Pastor

    Mike has over 39 years of business and ministry experience and began serving as Executive Pastor at First Baptist Church, Decatur, in February 2017. Mike is responsible for the Administrative, Operational, and Education ministries of the church. Mike has a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech and a Master of Arts in Education and Administration from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mike is married to Debbie, his high school sweetheart, and they have lived, worked, and served across the United States as well as Africa and Europe.  

  • Gerre Joiner

    Senior Adult Pastor

    Gerre was born in Lubbock, Texas and grew up on a cotton farm in Lorenzo, Texas. Gerre holds a degree from Texas Tech and Southwestern Seminary. He has served as minister of music/administration for over forty years in church including Lorenzo, Texas City, Cleburne, Wichita Falls, Stephenville, Abilene and Decatur. He is in his 8th year as our Pastor to Senior Adults. Gerre and his wife, Jo, have two children, Julie and Matt, and four grandchildren.

  • Gerry Lewis

    Interim Worship Pastor

    Dr. Gerry Lewis sang his first solo in church at the age of 3 and spent over 30 years serving churches as Music Minister, Youth Minister, and Senior Pastor. For the past 12 years, he has served as Executive Director/Lead Strategist of the Harvest Baptist Association, headquartered in Decatur, Texas. He is also President of YLM Resources, which includes Next Step CoachSulting and Life Matters Publications.  A frequent guest soloist and speaker at churches, he is also a bestselling author, newspaper columnist, and blogger. In 2018, he was a featured soloist with the Singing Men of Texas in concert in Carnegie Hall in New York City. Dr. Lewis and his wife, Eva (Mrs. Sweetie) live in Azle, TX and have two grown children and 4 (so far) grandchildren.


  • Miranda Boswell

    Children's Pastor

    Miranda has been working in various positions in Children and Preschool Ministry for 15 years strong and has a heart to teach kids biblical truth and the importance of memorizing scripture.


    Previous to joining the FBCD staff Miranda served as the Children’s Director in Azle. She joined FBCD staff in 2012. She was the Mother’s Day Out Director and now serves as the Children's Pastor. Miranda has a love for all children. Coming from a diverse background she has a passion for non-churched families and community outreach.  John, Miranda’s husband, owns a window and glass business and is a Sunday School teacher. John and Miranda have 6 children: Brandon, Samantha, Benjamin and Brayden, Jairo and Bill.

  • Ray Petty

    Student and Recreation Pastor

    Ray Petty has served officially as the Student Pastor since May 2019 and was Interim Student Pastor here at First Baptist Church twice in the past, totaling two years of service. Ray has a heart for Student Ministry and has served over 10 years as Student Pastor in Fort Worth area churches. In addition to Ray’s responsibility with the students, his role has been expanded to include Recreation Ministries which will include Upward Sports programs beginning in the Fall of 2020. Ray is working on his Master of Arts in Christian Education, Student Emphasis, at Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth. Ray is married to Jami, and they have three children.

  • Adrian Swift

    MDO Director

    Adrian Swift was born and raised in Bridgeport. She graduated from Tarleton State University in 2005 with a degree in Psychology. She has been a member of FBC Decatur since 2012 and has served in several capacities, most notably as the facilitator for our GriefShare program. After leaving the corporate world to stay with her children, Adrian discovered that mothering and loving on God’s little ones was her true passion. As a Christian with a deep love for children, MDO is a perfect fit.

     

    Adrian and her husband, Kyle, have five children: Everett, Kyser, Witten, Carver and Garner.
