John joined the ministry team of First Baptist Church Decatur as Minister of Worship & Music in June of 2005 after serving at FBC, Littlefield, Texas.  He also ministered at Bethany Baptist in Breckenridge, Texas from 1993 - 2000.

John graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas in 1989.  After five years coaching and teaching in the public school system, John felt the call of God into full-time vocational ministry.  He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a MDiv in May 2000.

John and Stephanie have been married since July 28, 1990 and have two sons, Caleb and Cade.
